Sour Cream and Onion Dip

Today’s forecast: 99 degrees. And when it’s this hot, even my appetite begins to wane. Perfect weather for some cool and refreshing sour cream dip. Partnered with unsalted potato chips and chilled veggies, it’s a terrific light meal for the hottest of days.
Yields 2 cups.

SODIUM CONTENT: 15.3 mg per serving (2 T.)

INGREDIENTS

1 T. vegetable oil
1 medium onion, finely diced (about 1 c.)
16 oz. (1 pint) sour cream
1 t. Mrs. Dash original salt-free seasoning blend
1/8 t. dried garlic powder
1/8 t. ground white pepper

DIRECTIONS

Heat oil in a small saucepan over medium-high. Add onion and cook, stirring, 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Measure sour cream into a small mixing bowl. Add the sauteed onion and seasonings and mix well to combine. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container and refrigerate until serving.

I have tried this several times. Instead of Mrs. Dash, I use a packet of the Herb Ox NSA Beef Bouillon Granules. It is really tasty!
