    Hi Christy,

    I just wanted to compliment you and thank you for your site! I’ve been searching the web for 2 years and your site is the best i’ve found. It includes so many varied options and you actualy use spices!! I’m sure you know there are many sites that direct you to cut out salt but don’t teach you how to use spices to add flavor. I too am a cook at heart and have been diagnosed with meniere’s disease! Unfortunatly, i work full time and have two young children so i never get enough time to experienment! Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to post all that you’ve learned. It gives me inspiration. πŸ™‚ Keep up the good work!

      I am right there with you. I love this site! I have recently been diagnosed with MD as well, and have a 1 and 3 year old at home. Definitely not easy planning meals that take a lot of prep during the week, so any help I can get is a lifesaver!

    Your site is an amazing find and a lifesaver! I read your story, and like you, I was diagnosed with Meniere’s after many frightful experiences. Thank you for sharing what you went through.
    Food is my passion. Giving that up for a bland, low sodium diet was disheartening, to say the least. Your recipes are fabulous! (sing that like a rock star) It’s a joy to cook my way through them.

    Hi Christy – I’m on week one of low-salt and just want you to know how helpful these recipes are, as well as the information on low-salt products. I’m planning on heading to Whole Foods for no-sodium bouillon granules (who knew?) if this blizzard ever let’s up! I would be at sea trying to figure out how to adapt my recipes without this website!

    And speaking of the sea – I see in your blog you have a prescription for meclizine and wondering if you have ever tried cinnarizine? Cinnarizine is sold under the brand name Sturgeron and is a bit of a secret known only to the sailing community, it seems. When we went on our year-long cruise-adventure the advice I got from live-aboard sailors was to take Sturgeron for sea-sickness. Sturgeron,un-like meclizine based nausea medications, does not make you sleepy or make you feel “out of it”. When I took it I could barely tell it was in my system and was able to carry on in rough seas with no nausea at all. I even gave it to my kids with great success. Only catch is that it is not approved for sale in the US – you have to order on-line from Canada or England.

    Enjoy the shoveling and bringing in the wood – I’ll be doing the same!

    Hello Christy,

    I’m grateful to stumble on to your blog looking for more info on the web after a severe vertigo (and migraine) attack.

    I was diagnosed with Menier’s recently and I’m still trying to grapple with accepting and coping with this disease. I am still going through the ‘why’? moments :*(

    For 2 years I have been living a low carb lifestyle and now that I am faced with the need to minimizing sodium intake, it has just been quite overwhelming.

    I know in time, I will be able to deal with this and I pray that I will not let this put a damper on the quality of living my life to its fullest.

    Again, thank you for this blog and the many delicious recipes you share. It gives me hope that we can all manage this condition one bite at a time πŸ™‚

    there are a lot of site I have gone to and found they were not low salt so am pleased with the ones of yours I have looked at. I really hope they taste as good as they look. This may become my favorite site since being told I have to go low salt

    Thank you for sharing your hard work. My husband had just been diagnosed with acute kidney failure so sodium and potassium (and phosphorous) are verboten. I was overwhelmed as I really thought we ate healthy, your sharing had given me possibilities for accomplishing the changes needed for him. If I can find your cookbook, its mine.

    Thank you so much for this site! It is a great source of inspiration and encouragement for me. I’ve always enjoyed serving my husband great (mostly healthy) meals. But when he was diagnosed with Meniere’s last year things got really difficult and depressing. We’ve gone through some tough spots, but finding your site has been a Godsend! I finally feel like I can give him delicious meal choices again! Our favorites are your beef tacos and guacamole, sloppy joes, and oatmeal peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies.
