Homemade Honey Mustard

The recipe for this delicious no-salt-added mustard comes from faithful Daily Dish reader, Judi, from Herkimer, NY. It takes only 5 minutes to prepare and yields a mustard every bit as good as those $5 gourmet jars sold in the supermarket. Judi writes:

I got this from the internet a few years ago, it is the only mustard I use now. I know you can buy low salt mustard but this is really quick, easy and inexpensive to make. It also has a nice zing!

Many thanks to Judi for another keeper!

Yields 3/4 cup.

SODIUM CONTENT: scant trace per recipe

1/4 c. honey
1/2 c. dry mustard
1/2 c. white vinegar
1 T. vegetable oil
1/4 t. ground allspice
1/4 t. garlic powder
1/4 t. ground white pepper

DIRECTIONS

Combine all of the ingredients in a 1 quart saucepan. Place over medium-high heat and stir constantly until
boiling. Once boiling, reduce heat to medium-low. Continue boiling until thick (this happens quickly), about 3-5 minutes.
