Jim’s White Sangria

I take absolutely no credit for this powerfully delicious drink. My friend Jim got the recipe from another friend – coincidentally named Jim – to serve at a recent party. It’s best partnered with food as it packs one heck of a punch (pun intended).

Yields twelve 8-oz. servings.

SODIUM CONTENT: 11.3 mg per serving

INGREDIENTS

8 c. inexpensive sweet white wine (such as Sauterne)
3/4 c. vodka
3/4 c. Christian Brothers Frost White Brandy
3/4 c. apple juice
3/4 c. tropical fruit juice blend
1/4 c. sugar
2 kiwi fruit, peeled and sliced
1 1/2 c. green grapes
1 pear, cored and sliced thinly
Ice, for serving

DIRECTIONS

Measure all liquids into a large punch bowl, add sugar and stir to combine. Add the fruit to the bowl and cover well with plastic wrap. Carefully transfer bowl to the refrigerator and chill overnight. Before serving, uncover bowl and add ice. Serve immediately.
