Strawberries and Cream

We found some gorgeous, ripe red berries last night at the market and today, with both of my daughters home sick, this is just what the doctor ordered. Almost too simple to count as a recipe – but one you’ll never forget.

Serves 4.


1 lb. ripe strawberries, washed, hulled and sliced
1-2 T. sugar, to taste
whipped cream


Place strawberries in a large bowl, sprinkle sugar over top, and stir to coat. Let sit several minutes to release juice. Spoon berries into serving dishes and top with whipped cream. Serve immediately.
