Waldorf Salad

This low sodium version of the classic Waldorf retains all of the delicious heart-healthy ingredients of the original, while updating the dressing to the 21st century. Who needs mayonnaise when nonfat yogurt tastes and feels so much better?

Serves 4.

SODIUM CONTENT: 45.3 mg per serving


2 c. diced red delicious apple (1 large apple, cored)
2 c. diced granny smith apple (1 large apple, cored)
1 1/3 c. halved seedless red grapes
1 c. diced celery (2 stalks)
1/2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
2 t. freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 c. Stonyfield Farm Organic Fat Free French Vanilla Yogurt


Place the diced apple into a large mixing bowl. Add the lemon juice and toss well to coat. Add the grapes, celery, walnuts and yogurt and stir gently to combine. Serve immediately, garnished with additional chopped walnuts if desired, or store in an airtight container and refrigerate until serving.
