WEEK THREE.

My first deadline is fast approaching. Half the manuscript (150 recipes) is due a week from Monday, so this week and next I’ll be at the computer. I much prefer the hands-on creative work in the kitchen to the t-e-d-i-o-u-s data entry, but both are a part of the process. Last week I squeezed in a few more recipes before giving myself over fully to transcription. Wanted to share them (partly so I can remind myself I’ll be back there soon!) Just as a reminder, these photos do not link to recipes. They’re just a sneak peek at some of what will be in the book this fall.

If I lived near you, I’d gladly help you with the transcription. These all looks incredible!

  2. i am EXHAUSTED just looking at this amount of work (and dirty dishes). you are inspirational with your determination and energy–must be that lo-so diet of yours! DASH on, woman. xo

Thanks Nat! My poor hands. First all the dishwashing, now the typing, will they never get a rest? LOL

Cannot wait to be done on the computer. As much as I loathe the clean up, I LOVE the creative process (esp. compared to the drudgery of data entry!)

      XO

  3. Always looks incredible, Dishy!
Wow, though! Not only is that an unbelievable amount of work, but sure not much time to get it all done in, either! I hope things continue to go as well as they sound (and look)!
    🙂

Thanks, Inky! As of this morning I was over the 100 mark. I worked another full day today, but didn’t go back to tally (too tired). I should make the first deadline w/out issue, but have another 150 to go after that! LOTS of work, but very much worth it. I keep reminding myself of that.

  4. Cilantro peanut pesto! The crisp looks amazing, too, as your crisps always do.

That’s right. I have intimate knowledge of your crisps.

    • Christy says:

Hah! My crisps don’t know whether to be flattered or frightened. I’m opting for the first. lol

The cilantro pesto is so good! I love when great recipes come out of dreams, don’t you? Some of the best so far have been like that. I keep a notebook & pencil beside my bed so I don’t forget anything. My brain does not rest!

  5. just checking in to make sure you haven’t drowned in a sea of recipes and food. i’m rooting for you and wish i was there to help sample some of the more tame recipes! 🙂 i miss you and hope all is well. xoxox

I wish you were here too – I could use a helper!!

Doing well, just exhausted pretty much 24/7. I turned in the first half of the manuscript first thing monday – 162 recipes, plus sidebars! YIPPEE!

Now back in the kitchen for part 2. So far, so good. Keep rooting me on, my friend!! XO
